Colombia Las Huertas

This is the 3rd year that we bought coffees from Oscar. Oscar first came to this area of Cauca for work over 20 years ago. He had a young family and started to help his father-in-law with his crops. With the money saved over time, he was able to buy a small plot of land and started growing coffee. Nowadays, his eldest daughter helps him with the quality of the harvests so that he can be have a overall control of what he is producing.

This is a Pink Bourbon variety which has its roots form Ethiopian Heirloom landraces. Some people suspected that the seeds were brought to a part of Colombia, named Huila, in which they thrived and mutated to the local terroir, resulting in it's unique qualities that are different from it's parentage. Soft and delicate with notes of clementine and peach, with hints of pinkish grapefruit and a whiff of hibiscus in a gentle silky finish. This is also our Feb subscription coffee.
