The Baraona family is a well-recognised coffee producer family in El Salvador for its ability to continuously produce high quality specialty coffee. The farm is currently spearheaded by fifth generation producer, Diego Baraona after the passing of his father, Gilberto, who is a very close friend of ours. Gilberto’s vast knowledge in building state of the art of wet and dry mills meant that his own facilities on the top of the Tecapa volcano is world-class. We started working with Gilberto 8 years ago and is proud to continue our relationship with the family through Diego now.
This is a unique Ethiopian variety from the region of Harrar. The seeds were brought back by Gilberto many years back and grown in his variety garden. They grew very well and he decided to plant them at the highest part of the farm of Los Pirineos.
