Brazil Sitio Tanque

Nylon Coffee Roasters

This new coffee is the last of the Brazilian coffee we purchased last year. Some might think we have saved the best for the last, but we definitely have a lot more “bests” coming along.

Located in Piatã, on the region of Diamantina Plateau, the farm is owned by Mr. Aleci de Souza, who has been working with coffee for more than 26 years and comes from a coffee family also. Nowadays, Sitio Tanque has 6 hectares planted and producing coffee, and Mr. Aleci works to maintain it a sustainable area. This farm is located in one of the most privileged areas of Chapada

Diamantina with a temperature of 2 °C to 18 °C and with rainfall distributed throughout the year. This area is widely different from other places in Brazil in terms of climate and ecotops. It looks different, and the flavor spectrum is typical of many other coffee growing regions in Brazil. The farms are on the slopes of the Chapada Diamantina Mountain range, and altitudes can be up to 1400 masl, which is very high for Brazil.

The coffee cherries are hand-picked and de-pulped before being taken for drying on patios. The coffee beans are spread in layers of about 4 cm and mixed many times a day.

This espresso comes with a lovely soft acidity of apricots and melon, followed by a lush creamy texture coupled with warm nougat-like sweetness. The finale is a lingering hazelnut finish which rounds up this very clean and transparent cup.
